Terms of Service
Effective Date: June 13, 2026
Welcome to IP Shield. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the IP Shield website, API, and related services (collectively, the "Service") provided by Sergey Riavzon ("we," "us," or "our").
By registering for an account, obtaining an API key, or otherwise accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By registering for an account or integrating our API into your applications, you represent that you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
2. Description of Service
IP Shield provides an IP intelligence API that allows users to query IP addresses for geolocation, threat scoring, proxy/VPN detection, and other network data. The Service is provided "as is," and we reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time.
2.1 Feature Availability and Modification
We continuously update and refine our Service to improve the experience for all users. You acknowledge and agree that:
- We may add, alter, or completely remove certain features, datasets, or endpoints at our sole discretion and without prior notice.
- We do not guarantee the permanent availability of any specific feature or data point.
- We may cease providing the Service entirely or stop providing certain features to you or to users generally.
- No Consultation Provided: IP Shield is a self-serve API platform. Unless explicitly stated in a Custom enterprise contract, we do not provide technical consulting, integration services, or tailored solutions for individual implementations.
2.2 Uptime and Reliability
We make reasonable efforts to keep the Service operational, but we do not guarantee 100% uptime. The Service may be subject to interruptions, delays, and errors due to maintenance, updates, or factors outside our control. We are not liable for any damages or losses resulting from Service downtime, latency, or your inability to access the API.

4. Acceptable Use and Restrictions
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. To protect the integrity of our platform and datasets, you are strictly prohibited from engaging in any of the following activities:

- Scraping and Data Extraction: Scraping, crawling, or automatically extracting our proprietary datasets. You may not use the API for the purpose of creating a competing product, building your own local database of IP intelligence, or mass-downloading threat data.
- Malicious Activity and Hacking: Hacking, reverse engineering, decompiling, or attempting to compromise the security, integrity, or availability of our systems. Penetration testing or vulnerability scanning without explicit written permission is strictly prohibited.
- Illegal Use: Using the Service to facilitate illegal activities, harassment, spamming, the distribution of malware, or any action that violates the legal rights of others.
- Unauthorized Reselling: Reselling, sublicensing, or distributing the API or data derived from the API to third parties without a specific Custom enterprise agreement authorizing such actions.
4.1 Enforcement, Account Bans, and Legal Action
We actively monitor API usage and network traffic for abuse. If we determine, in our sole discretion, that you have violated these restrictions or engaged in unauthorized scraping, bypassing, or hacking attempts:
- Immediate Termination: We may immediately suspend or permanently ban your account without prior notice.
- Forfeiture: In the event of a ban for malicious activity or Terms violation, you forfeit any remaining quota or prepaid subscription fees, and no refunds will be issued.
- Legal Action: In severe cases of system abuse, data theft, or malicious attacks, we reserve the right to pursue all available civil remedies, seek injunctive relief, and report the activity to relevant law enforcement authorities.
5. Account Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and API keys.
- You must not share your API keys publicly (e.g., hardcoding them into client-side code like mobile apps or frontend JavaScript where they can be extracted).
- You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account or if you believe an API key has been compromised.
- IP Shield is not liable for any loss, damage, or unauthorized quota consumption arising from your failure to protect your API keys.
6. Intellectual Property
All content, software, databases, and datasets provided through the Service are the exclusive property of IP Shield or its licensors.
- Using our API does not grant you ownership of any data, threat intelligence, or intellectual property.
- You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access the API in accordance with your plan limits and solely for your internal business or personal use.
- The "IP Shield" name, logos, and associated branding are our trademarks and may not be used without permission.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, IP Shield and its affiliates, directors, or employees shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Loss of profits, revenue, or business opportunities.
- Loss of data or data corruption.
- Damages resulting from your reliance on the API's data.
Data Accuracy: The data provided by our API (such as threat scores, geolocation, and proxy detection) is derived from various sources and algorithms and is provided for informational purposes only. While we strive for accuracy, we do not guarantee that the data is 100% accurate, complete, or up-to-date. You should not rely on this data as the sole basis for critical business, legal, or security decisions.
Our total aggregate liability to you for any claims arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to us for the Service in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. We expressly disclaim all warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to:
- Implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
- Warranties of non-infringement.
- Warranties that the Service will meet your specific requirements.
